He Will Lead Me......Where I Need To Be

2011_-_june_appeal_page_srm_photo
The story below is a story of how your donations Colorado Springs provide individuals and families with food, shelter and many other basic needs everyday at Springs Rescue Mission.

David, Jack and Robert were friends, living on the streets together.  During the coldest days of winter Jack and Robert finally decided to come to the Mission to get help.

David was the holdout.  He'd come in for meals, but because he didn't want to sit through a short chapel service before he ate, he'd usually grab a sack lunch and go back to living under the bridge.

There was a lot of freedom involved in that lifestyle, but sometimes, too much freedom is detrimental, or, as David says, "That kind of lifestyle is a rope, and sometimes you get enough to hang yourself."

For a while David "got into" crack cocaine.  He found and lost jobs, tried detox and ended up with a "$3 million roof" over his head, sleeping under the bridge.

"One night as I was laying there in my sleeping bag, I closed my eyes and prayed, 'Lord, I am sick and tired of living this way.' The next thing I know, I'm in the Mission dining hall wearing an ID badge."

Today, David is a graduate of the New Life Recovery Program!  He has chosen to lead a new life.  "I trust my Lord.  He will lead me step-by-step and get me where I need to be."

Through your donations Colorado Springs and your support of the Men's New Life Program, the lives of thousands of people have been changed forever.  David, Springs Rescue Mission supports you in your new life and we will be here to continue to take this journey with you.

If you are interested in supporting David and others like him visit our website at www.mySRM.org or call us at 719-632-1822.

Here's what one recipient had to say about the event:

"My daughter, granddaughter and I were praying last night for help with getting gasoline. Our prayers were answered when we received a $50 gift card from Wal-mart. That will help us with getting gasoline."

Our Outreach Coordinator, Karen had this to say:

"What a wonderful celebratory event Saturday was!  It was the smoothest and "funnest" one ever. There were lots of smiles, laughter and people constantly thanking us. Everyone had a good time and ate well too."

Anyone Can Volunteer And Make A Difference

Regardless of age, race, gender, etc. there is always something to be done when volunteering in Colorado Springs. Being a child cannot prevent you from helping, nor can being a senior. Every little bit helps, and everyone in the community can prosper from it.  At Springs Rescue Mission we welcome any and all volunteers.  Just this past weekend we hosted an Easter event.  We had volunteers ranging from 6 years old to seniors and all were greatly appreciated!

The main goal of many rescue missions is to assist as many people as possible. Without the help of volunteers, the amount of people in need would greatly exceed the amount of assistance available. By helping out whenever possible, more members of the community can be served, which benefits everyone.

There are many people who take what they have learned through their volunteer work, and apply it into their everyday lives. It can be incredibly rewarding to work with the less fortunate. Our volunteers build a sense of pride in what they do, which transfers to every area of their life, including day to day routines.

Volunteering in Colorado Springs helps to build a stronger community. It does not have to be difficult to give up a few hours, or even help out another person. Having passion and the belief in what you are doing, is often enough fuel to get going. Once going, the results can be extraordinary for both the volunteer and the community.

Benefits of Volunteering at Springs Rescue Mission

Below is an excerpt from an article about the benefits of being a volunteer.  You will find there are many benefits when you volunteer Colorado Springs.  It starts as being a good deed or service to the organization and/or individual you are helping, but in the end you benefit just as much!  At Springs Rescue Mission we want you to fulfill your passions and share your talents through being a volunteer.  If you would like to get more out of life, give back to those in need.

"Fundamentally, volunteering is about giving your time, energy and skills freely.  Unlike many things in life there is choice involved in volunteering. As a volunteer you have made a decision to help on your own accord, free from pressure to act from others.  Volunteers predominantly express a sense of achievement and motivation, and this is ultimately generated from your desire and enthusiasm to help. Sometimes volunteers are regarded as do-gooders and those that hold that view also assume that one person can never make a difference. It may be true that no one person can solve all the world’s problems, but what you can do is make that little corner of the world where you live just that little bit better."

If you would like to read the rest of this article follow the link at www.worldvolunteerweb.org.

Springs Food Fight ~ Springs Rescue Mission Continues To Turn Hunger Into Hope

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

The “Springs Food Fight” continues. Springs Rescue Mission (SRM) is in the middle of its Easter campaign to “Turn Hunger Into Hope” by feeding thousands of hungry and homeless people this holiday season!

SRM still needs a lot of help accumulating food and is asking the community to join the effort. During the next three weeks, preparations will be underway to supply hundreds of families with holiday food boxes and facilitate a large Easter meal for the poorest in Colorado Springs.

“This time of year we serve some of the most broken people in our city. Coming together as a community in response to a great need will bring tremendous hope to our struggling neighbors. It’s not just about the donation of the food we need; it’s about showing we care for each other, and offering other solutions that help in a greater way” says Joe Vazquez, CEO of Springs Rescue Mission.  Make a difference and choose to make donations Colorado Springs this Easter season.

SRM is asking for a community effort in donating as many of the items needed in the next 14 days and join in the effort of providing for struggling families with children and individuals who are relying on the Mission’s help this year.

“By providing a meal we get people in the door and out of the cold. But it’s also through that one meal we can open the door to other opportunities to give them life essential assistance they desperately need,” continues Mr. Vazquez.

Becoming A Volunteer In Colorado Springs Helps The Community

At Springs Rescue Mission we believe helping someone that is in need can be one of the greatest satisfactions in life. Being a volunteer in Colorado Springs, can help benefit everyone in the community. Regardless of the passion that drives a person, there is something for everyone.

Volunteer work has no age limits. A person can begin as soon as they are able to walk, or can help out until their final moment on Earth. Because a charity is always looking for people, the more volunteers they have on staff, the larger the community involvement. This can greatly help with prosperity in a community as well as help the individual grow by learning from those they have helped.

The more people wanting to help a charity, the larger database of people it can help. With more hands, more gets done in a community. The more a company does with the larger help, the more people that benefit as a result. This can help the community serve a greater amount of people, something everyone in the community can appreciate.

Having a sense of pride as a volunteer will not only help the organization, but help the person as well. Members will quickly form bonds with one another as they recognize their similar interests. These interests not only help form long lasting friendships, but also a separate family all together.

There are quite a few people that transfer what they have learned by volunteering into their own personal lives. It can be a great accomplishment to be able to see compassion for every part of life, instead of only the company's involvement.  When someone experiences personal growth it affects every aspect of their life, including work.

It is not hard for anyone to give up their time; they just have to want to do it. By wanting to help others which are struggling, or simply by wanting to help better them self as a whole, it can be done easily if the passion is there. By deciding to be a volunteer in Colorado Springs, the community can not only grow and see a large difference within the population, but also within the volunteer as well.

If you or someone you know is interested in engaging your church, business, or small group with Springs Rescue Mission we would love to come to YOU and share exciting opportunities to get involved through volunteering, giving and advocating for the less fortunate. To arrange a presentation, please contact Kristin at 719-314-2353 or kristino@mysrm.org.

SRM Spotlight ~ New Life Program Is Changing Lives

Ernesto

Springs Rescue Mission's New Life Program has changed the lives of many men in need of an addiction recovery program in Colorado Springs.  The story below proves the power of Jesus Christ and His work through this amazing program.

Ernesto came to the Mission from the world of heavy drug use and a culture created by those who lived for only one thing – the current drugs of choice – whether it was for money or personal use. Because of experiencing several family tragedies related to drugs and money, Ernesto stepped into the drug world bent on retaliation, but was soon lured by the sultry addictive lifestyle. His attitude towards revenge turned into a tasteful opportunity to live for himself.

As a result, Ernesto’s life became one deeply integrated into the Mexican drug world, with experiences that could fill volume after volume of books in an encyclopedia format. A complete paradox was cultivated from an early life lived in the Faith as it met head on with a completely Evil infiltrated existence.

“When I came to the Mission my mind was filled with so many negative experiences that I never thought I could get clean again. Inside I felt so dirty and unraveled. But God did a miracle. Somehow He took everything and every bad experience and turned into a life worth living.

“My life in drugs and crime are over. I know that now. God has opened himself to me in a way and showed me that my life is still worth something and it has a purpose for Jesus.

“My life and experiences can be used to minister to people still caught in the same lifestyle I was saved from. God can use me to show people the way out, to show them the light of Jesus, and that they too can be saved from destruction.

I know God put a call on my life. This Call is to reach people only I can reach because I have been where they are at now. I am a tool in God’s hand that has a specific purpose now.”

Ernesto has a new vision for his life. In the immediate he wants to rejoin with his family, as a new man of course. He wants to allow Jesus ample time to continue the nurturing process of building up his spirit in the Faith, as well as the rebuilding of relationships with his family.

As His life continues to progress on a positive path, Ernesto knows God is getting him ready to enter into a lifetime ministry of making a difference in other’s lives.

At the moment, Ernesto is still in the New Life Program at Springs Rescue Mission where he is putting his love for cooking through the paces of the Mission’s Culinary Arts program.

“I love food and learning how to cook on a professional level. I think it will provide a good career opportunity for me to pursue while I walk the path of bringing others to know Jesus Christ.

“I thank God for bringing me into the Mission experience and a different culture that changed the old person I was into someone new - to live a life full of purpose.”

Ernesto, you are an inspiration to any person needing and wanting to change his/her life.  We admire your hard work and dedication to be the person your were meant to be.

If you or someone you know is seeking the help of an addiction recovery program in Colorado Springs, visit our website at www.mySRM.org or call us at 719-632-1822.

Donate In Colorado Springs This Easter

Would you like to make a difference this Easter season and donate in Colorado Springs?  Well, you can!  Read this message from Springs Rescue Mission's CEO to find out more.

A Message from Rev. Joe Vazquez, CEO of Springs Rescue Mission

Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit.”

We want those who come to us in need to put their trust and hope in the Lord. His Word is necessary for their life and growth.

But before they can “yield fruit,” they need to be fed, clothed and sheltered. That’s why we’re dedicating each day between now and Easter to turning hunger into hope.

With your help, we will continue to provide both the physical and spiritual nourishment that reaches deep into people’s hearts and souls so their “roots” can grow strong and deep.

Springs Rescue Mission ~ "Turn Hunger Into Hope" Volunteer Opportunities

Hff_spotlight_link3

The increasing numbers of people who are suffering from hunger and homelessness have prompted Springs Rescue Mission to launch a special project through its "Springs Food Fight" campaign this Easter season to "Turn Hunger Into Hope."

According to CEO Rev. Joe Vazquez, "We know that thousands of men, women and children in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region go to bed hungry each night."

When Springs Rescue Mission feeds a hungry individual or family they extend an invitation through other resources to aid those who are struggling and "Turn Hunger into Hope." According to Rev. Vazquez, "a meal is often the first contact hungry or homeless people have with the Mission and serves to introduce them to other life-changing services."

Alvin is one of those people. After a lifetime of drug abuse, Alvin ended up homeless. He was living outdoors in Colorado Springs in the winter! Alvin knew that he had to make a change. We accepted him with open arms and he joined our New Life addiction recovery program. Here, he is learning essential life skills and pursuing the path to self-sufficiency.

"So many of our neighbors have lost hope," said Vazquez. "They've lost jobs, lost homes, lost control of their lives to drugs or alcohol. They're hungry – not only for hot meals – but for the hope that can nourish their hearts and souls and help them to begin new lives."

During this Easter season, the "Springs Food Fight" will begin to "Turn Hunger into Hope" to provide thousands of meals to our neighbors in need.  Volunteer in Colorado Springs and help us provide meals to our neighbors.

Springs Rescue Mission is a non-denominational, Christian, and Direct Service organization, which has been providing critically needed goods and services to the homeless, poor and needy of the Pikes Peak region since 1996. In 2011, they expect to provide more than 299,533 meals and over 12,200 nights of shelter for many in recovery. All services provided FREE OF CHARGE.

For more complete details on this year's "Springs Food Fight" campaign, visit www.SpringsFoodFight.com and help "Turn Hunger into Hope."

SRM Spotlight ~ A New Walk With God

Kevin
This week’s SRM Spotlight is about a man who came to Springs Rescue Mission barely sober enough to function.  He had been through rehabilitation and AA, but was still lost in the world of alcoholism.
“My life had tanked and I knew I needed a change…so I got on the road drunk, intending to come back to Colorado,” he remembers sadly.  Kevin’s nightmare lasted 13 days…and he doesn’t remember any of it!  He got as far as Raton Pass, where a highway patrolman found him walking along the road. “I hope I never forget how bad I was…I was completely out of my mind.”
Kevin has since then turned his life around.  Participating in the Men’s New Life program at Springs Rescue Mission has changed his life.  The New Life program is an addiction recovery program in Colorado Springs where men fight through addictions and find God.
Kevin, we are so proud of you and know you will continue to be successful in your new walk with God.  To read the full story about this remarkable recovery, go to the March newsletter at www.mySRM.org

Springs Rescue Mission ~ Turning Hunger Into Hope

Foodfight

The benefits of non profit organizations in Colorado Springs are considerable; in reality it can be said they are crucial to the community. Non profit organizations are not there to gain profits for themselves. They are created in order to assist others, individuals or groups, in their own particular causes.  Springs Rescue Mission is one of those non profit organizations in Colorado Springs that is helping people in need in our community.

Certainly non profit organizations have directors, members and employees much like any other business, but they definitely do not bestow their assets on them in a private capacity. Naturally, non profit organizations don't have shareholders. On the plus side they are often exempt from many taxes in return for their part in helping create a better community.

Much against common knowledge these organizations actually play an important part in the overall economy. They in fact hold an equal third share of the overall economy with the private business sector and the public-government sector. Moreover, approximately one in ten employees in America are employed by non profit organizations, either on a full or part-time basis.

Non profit organizations in Colorado Springs operate in a variety of ways in many different incarnations in order to improve the general living standards of society. Comprising a significant majority of them are the most common of non profit organizations, which are charitable organizations. Poverty assistance is the focus of their attention and they attempt to achieve this through creating areas such as soup kitchens, shelters for the homeless and counseling centers.

Springs Rescue Mission offers all three of these assistance programs and more.  This Spring SRM is turning hunger into hope.  In order for SRM to continue to aid those in need it must have assistance from those in abundance.  Give to Springs Rescue Mission this Spring and help turn hunger into hope for those in our community who have found themselves in rough times.

SRM is a non profit organization in Colorado Springs that is making a difference.  To find out more visit our website at www.mySRM.org or call us at 719-632-1822.

Springs Rescue Mission's Spotlight ~ Nothing Goes To Waste

Bearhearts

Springs Rescue Mission doesn't operate a thrift store with the large amount of clothing, furniture and food we receive - we give it away for free to those in desperate need.  Your donations in Colorado Springs never go to waste.  When we have more than we can handle, we share it with other ministries who do the same.

That's how we met Gabrielle and Brad Bearsheart, a couple with a heart for Native American people.  Their ministry, Project Lighthouse, delivers food and clothing to God's children on the Colorado Springs and Denver area reservations.  When a donation of milk and yogurt was more than they could use, they shared their bounty with the Springs Rescue Mission.  A week later, SRM reciprocated by offering the Bearshearts a donated semi to replace their U-Haul trailer.

Gabrielle and Brad Bearsheart are the kind of people who are making a difference in our community and our world.  Springs Rescue Mission is proud to work with people like the Bearshearts to make our community stronger.  To read more about this amazing couple and their ministry click the following link.  (Donations in Colorado Springs)

SRM Spotlight ~ Donations In Colorado Springs Are Changing Lives

Robert Worrall is Spring Rescue Mission’s Donations Driver Coordinator.  As a graduate of the New Life Program, he is now a committed staff member working daily with men devoted to the same path of following God.  As Robert coordinates donations in Colorado Springs we honor him for being an asset to the SRM team!

From his perspective there are two kinds of stories to tell; those of people who donate to us, and clients to whom we give our donations to. They are both powerful. The best stories often represent where Christ’s hand was evidently involved.

Here's what Robert shared with us from the perspective of a donor:

Countless donors have told me often how they love giving to our Ministry because they are aware of who we are, what we do, and believe deeply in our work. Donors feel blessed to support us because we give our resources FREE of CHARGE in order to adequately help those in need.  Our heart to give generously inspires them to give also.

I also receive positive feedback from donors as they interact with the men from our New Life (recovery) Program who pick up donations from their house. They comment on the servant heart exhibited as these men show great respect while in their homes. What a testament to the spiritual success within the New Life Recovery Program.

There is a population within our donors who have found themselves in the same situations of poverty they now give towards to help. Since they have experienced hard times themselves they feel the urge to give back. Many of these same donors were helped by Springs Rescue Mission and give back to us in return of the favor.

A more memorable of these recent encounters was a mother of three young daughters. They handed me a card from their Grandma. It read – “dear grandkids, grandpa and I decided to send you each $50 so you could get what you want for yourselves, but we think that you should remember this has been a tough year, and you might wish to spend some for a gift for another child who won’t get any presents this year.  Jesus loves us when we help other people.

The blessing in all this was that each child decided to spend all the money – not some of the money – but all of it from Grandma and Grandpa on toys for other children in need. They delivered the lot to us and asked that we give it to who needed it most. We did just that! They were all smiles.  ~Robert Worrall

One of our donors said it all in a message she left for Robert at Springs Rescue Mission.  Click this link to listen:

Springs Rescue Mission Offers Volunteer Opportunities In Colorado Springs

There are numerous volunteer opportunities in Colorado Springs, offering a great variety of positions; in fact there is something for everyone. Volunteer work can often turn out to be one of the most amazing experiences of anyone's life. It can incorporate fun, learning, experience, culture, friendships, understanding and a completely different perspective of life and the world. Often this can be in a totally wonderful and inspiring way.

A volunteer can always experience another culture in new and exciting ways. It often involves working side-by-side with the people living in the local communities where the volunteer is placed. People-to-people interaction is, in fact, wholly encouraged in the placement which can often lead to a certain degree of cross-cultural exchange. Doing something different and meaningful really can change a person's whole attitude to life, and hopefully this change will last a lifetime.

The good news is that really no experience is necessary. Anyone can choose to follow this path; as long as they have a desire for it (and of course for life) everyone will have something to offer. Definitely no specific specialist skills are required. The work can be matched to the worker simply through their own personal skills and interests together, of course, with the specific requirements of the community.

So, let's have a look at the opportunities available. In reality, volunteer work can encompass a whole range of different areas in which personal skills can be used. This can include the fields of care giving, health care, teaching and community development. Each of these fields can themselves include a whole array of different tasks.

At Springs Rescue Mission we offer several volunteer opportunities in Colorado Springs. In the Direct Services Center we serve the working poor, single parents, families with children, and the homeless. Volunteer opportunities include: client intake, TEFAP food distribution assistant, clothing store supervisor/assistant, driver, and donation and intake personnel.

The Men's New Life Program serves men who are homeless, addicted, or need help gaining control over other life destructive circumstances. Volunteer opportunities include: mentors, Bible teachers, case management assistant, drivers, tutors, and pen pals.

Facilities management serves all the departments of Springs Rescue Mission. Without proper maintenance and repairs we couldn't operate at full capacity. Volunteer opportunities include: groundskeepers, mechanics, housekeeping, janitorial, and construction.

The Food Service Department serves the homeless, working poor, single parents, families with children, and anyone who is hungry. Volunteer opportunities include: food service prep, serving meals, and special outreach events.

The Volunteer Department serves all those helped by the Mission and its programs through much needed support activities. Volunteer opportunities include: volunteer support people, encouragement rep, receptionist, secretary, special events workers, and prayer coordinators.

The Chapel Services Department provides a message of hope from the Bible at the evening meal. Volunteer opportunities include: nightly chapel leaders and speakers.

Major holiday and special outreach events are planned throughout the year. Volunteer opportunities include an array of needs and vary depending on event.

With all these volunteer opportunities in Colorado Springs there is definitely something for everyone. All that is needed is desire, motivation and an ability to be flexible, patient and fun.  Springs Rescue Mission prides itself in honoring a Neighbors Helping Neighbors theme when it comes to volunteering.  Come and be a part of this spirit filled program and serve your community through volunteerism!

Springs Rescue Mission's Spotlight

Springs Rescue Mission would like to recognize Steven Oates as this week’s SRM Spotlight!  Steven has served as the Education and Career Program
Coordinator for the New Life Program for 3 years.  He wears many hats in this role, serving as coordinator and teacher of the morning Bible and Life Skill
classes and the Career Employment Services classes.  Also coordinating assessments, evaluations, curriculum and volunteers for the Career Advancement
Center and serving as the Prison Outreach Liaison.  Steven coordinates, schedules, recruits and trains staff/volunteers for these programs.  He also
writes curriculum for each program.   The volunteer opportunities in Colorado Springs are endless, but Springs Rescue Mission is so fortunate to have
Steven in their corner!

These programs offer the men of the New Life Program with educational classes, a GED (when necessary), a 10- week course on successful job searching
skills, basic job skills, resume writing skills, job interview skills, etc.  They also give the gift of the Lord, through Bible studies.  The men of this
program are taught the skills they need to better their lives and move forward with God and with a career.  Steven plays a huge role in this by giving
back to this program and serving the men of the New Life Program.

Steven shared a few thoughts with us about the volunteer opportunities in Colorado Springs that he has chosen to participate in.  Here’s what he had to
say;

What is special about what you do?

“Being a part of God's great working - It is God who does the work, I am a humble servant tool in His hands.  Being a part of God's great working in life
transformation, in setting the captives free from addictions and destructive life patterns.  Empowering people, volunteers to use their God given gifts
and abilities, to be a part of God's great working in this life transformation.”

How has your time at SRM impacted you the greatest?

“To learn this great life lesson - God accepts us where we are, we do not have to clean up our act, our lives before coming to be accepted by Him.  God is
rich in His love and mercy, we come to Him just as we are, with our lives messed up - We come to Him under the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We
are complete in Christ, fully accepted and deeply loved by God.”

How is what you do making an impact in others lives?

“To see a man coming out of prison or jail, for him to earn his GED, for this man to see genuine life transformation - transformation of core beliefs and
values; To see a man walk out these doors with a job, a place to live, a car, a relapse prevention plan in place, and a Christ centered life view - To see
a man come into a salvation experience and knowledge of Jesus Christ.”

Thank you Steven for your time, your talents, your passion and your willingness to serve at Springs Rescue Mission.

Car Donation In Colorado Springs At Springs Rescue Mission

Springs Rescue Mission’s car donation in Colorado Springs program provides additional support for our neighbors seeking self-sufficiency. Like all of us, achieving this goal often requires a reliable vehicle to get to work or school, visit the doctor, pick up groceries, and help in other every day activities that can often times be taken for granted. Your car donation in Colorado Springs helps families with children desperately in need of transportation.

When you donate your vehicle to SRM we offer:

   1. Acceptance of your vehicle running or not.
   2. Completion of all DMV paperwork—we save you the hassle.
   3. Tax deduction for the value of vehicle.
   4. Professional handling of your donation.
   5. Assurance that your gift will elevate lives in the Pikes Peak region.

Here is how it works:

   1. Is your vehicle located in the Colorado Springs area?
   2. Do you have a clear Certificate of Title in your possession?

If you answered "yes" to both questions above, or you simply want to learn more, call our Gift-in-Kind Coordinator Katy Hartshorn at 719-314-2368.  When the Mission provides a car to a family for free, YOU receive the maximum for your tax-deductible donation. Volunteer in Colorado Springs

Each week Springs Rescue Mission recognizes an outstanding volunteer in Colorado Springs.  This week Alice Bilger is that person!

Alice has been a volunteer at SRM for the past 14 years. She started when the Mission was handing out sack meals to the homeless under the bridge and operating out of one room, rented in an office complex. She has been a part of almost every service SRM provides. As the Mission grew and expanded over the years, so did Alice as a volunteer.

"Being a part of the Mission over the years has been a spiritually positive experience for me. In my later years I have grown so much closer to God by helping people. It has changed my life to help the Mission change lives. I still feel more blessed everyday because of what I get to do". ~Alice Bilger

Thank you Alice for your years of service and your commitment to helping others.  Being a volunteer in Colorado Springs has truly made a difference in the lives of others.

Springs Rescue Mission offers several areas to volunteer in.  Give back to your community and volunteer in Colorado Springs.  Call us at 719.632.1822 or visit our website at www.mySRM.org.

Donations For Non Profits In Colorado Springs

There’s no doubt that the past 12 months have been a tremendous challenge for us all. We only have to look at the difficulties facing our neighbors, our community, the country and the increased number of new people coming to Springs Rescue Mission for help.

Donations for non profits in Colorado Springs can help make a difference in the lives of our neighbors who are faced with the reality of poverty, homelessness and addiction. These individuals and families come to Springs Rescue Mission for shelter, food, clothing and other life essential needs. By joining our team and giving back you can help our neighbors who are in need.

Despite these hard times, many of our supporters have given donations for non profits in Colorado Springs that they might have used to better their own lives. For those who have been faithful beyond measure, we give thanks! We believe that God will weigh these gifts with a measure that is beyond that of our world: He will measure according to our capacity and the compassion out of which we gave –because He knows the state of our hearts and will reward accordingly.

Please continue to make an immediate and lasting difference in the lives of men, women and children in need in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region through your gifts – through your time, talent and treasure.
