Regardless of age, race, gender, etc. there is always something to be done when volunteering in Colorado Springs. Being a child cannot prevent you from helping, nor can being a senior. Every little bit helps, and everyone in the community can prosper from it. At Springs Rescue Mission we welcome any and all volunteers. Just this past weekend we hosted an Easter event. We had volunteers ranging from 6 years old to seniors and all were greatly appreciated!
The main goal of many rescue missions is to assist as many people as possible. Without the help of volunteers, the amount of people in need would greatly exceed the amount of assistance available. By helping out whenever possible, more members of the community can be served, which benefits everyone. There are many people who take what they have learned through their volunteer work, and apply it into their everyday lives. It can be incredibly rewarding to work with the less fortunate. Our volunteers build a sense of pride in what they do, which transfers to every area of their life, including day to day routines.Volunteering in Colorado Springs helps to build a stronger community. It does not have to be difficult to give up a few hours, or even help out another person. Having passion and the belief in what you are doing, is often enough fuel to get going. Once going, the results can be extraordinary for both the volunteer and the community. To find out how you or your organization can get involved in volunteering in Colorado Springs, visit our website at www.mySRM.org or call us at 719-632-1822.
